A new study led by Arpana Church, a neuroscientist at UCLA’s Goodman-Luskin Microbiome Center, finds distinct biological signatures in the microbiomes of people who are highly resilient in the face of stressful events. “The accuracy with which these patterns emerged was really amazing,” says Church.

Bruin MindFit is a hands-on mindful movement and meditation course that teaches several effective stress management tools and is offered to faculty and staff at no cost. Become more mindful by paying attention to your breath, feelings and thoughts. Release the deep layers of fatigue and stress. Practice meditation, basic yoga movement, everyday mindfulness and more. Summer session is offered virtually via Zoom from 12–1 p.m. on Tuesdays or Thursdays, starting the week of July 7 through Aug. 1.
