The initial gift of 260 artworks from philanthropists Jarl and Pamela Mohn lays the foundation for a dynamic and continually growing collection. In addition to this generous contribution, the Mohns will establish an endowment to fund annual acquisitions and cover the ongoing care and storage of the collection. MAC3 establishes a groundbreaking model for institutional collaboration and commitment to directly supporting the artist communities of Los Angeles. The Hammer Museum will enhance the collection with 80 works previously acquired by the museum through its Made in L.A. biennials since 2012.
