The “Teens and Screens” report, which surveyed some 1,500 young people across the U.S. aged 10 to 24, found 63.5% of adolescents prefer “nomance”-related content this year, up from 55% in 2023.

UCLA political scientists Nikita Savin and Daniel Treisman analyzed Trump’s campaign and presidential speeches from 2015 through 2024. They found that one of the most striking trends in Trump’s rhetoric is the sharp rise in his use of violent vocabulary. The share of words associated with violence in Trump’s speeches rose from almost 0.6% in 2016 to 1.6% in 2024.
