Next Tuesday, July 9, is your chance to learn more about the Hammer Museum’s eclectic exhibition based on the vision of fashion design collective Concept Foreign Garments New York (CFGNY). One room of the exhibition was inspired by UCLA collections and research that document the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Join UC Santa Barbara professor of Asian American Studies Diane Fujino as she leads an after-hours walk-through of the multifaceted exhibition “Refashioning: CFGNY & Wataru Tominaga” at 6 p.m., then stay for the 7:30 p.m. screening of “Rabbit in the Moon,” a poetic and illuminating picture of one family’s experiences through this deeply troubling chapter in American history. The director and producer will be on hand for a post-show Q&A.
